The Ag. Director of the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), Abraham Amaliba (Esq), in the company of officials from NRSA and CPM AFRICA LTD, called on the Ag. Chief Executive of the Ghana Highway Authority (GHA) Tuesday, September 9, 2025. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the merits of a proposal to introduce reflective solar studs as a viable means of enhancing road visibility across the country.
Mallam Issah Ishak, Ag. Chief Executive of GHA, in a brief opening remark, acknowledged the interventions made by NRSA and reiterated the relevance of safety concerns on our Road network.

Introducing the team for the presentation, Lawyer Amaliba highlighted safety issues facing the country and the need for a proper lighting system to avert the numerous accidents on our roads.

Ing. Mustapha Wahadi, the C.E.O of CPM AFRICA, in his presentation recognised the efforts made by NRSA and GHA in maintaining safety on our Roads and the need to improve on it with a more advanced system, that is, the Reflective Solar Stud. This, he noted, will increase visibility and complement the safety measures already in place. Outlining the benefits of the proposed Solar Stud, Ing. Mustapha Wahadi mentioned its Superior.

Concluding the presentation, he added that the system is internationally certified, purpose-built for performance and highly sustainable.
Participants, after the presentation, asked varied questions pertaining to the practicality and technicality of the system. Some of which included fixing of the system, colour coding, issues of imitation and vandalism, adverse relationship between drivers and the system, maintenance issues among other related observations and concerns.
In a concluding remark, Mallam Issah Ishak commended Lawyer Amaliba and the entire team, noting “ This is the product we are looking for.” He urged the team from CPM AFRICA to conclude their certification process at Ghana Standard Authority and also agree to do a pilot testing on a selected Road corridor at no cost to GHA.
