The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Her Excellency, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, together with her team, paid a working visit to the Ministry of Roads and Highways on Wednesday, 11th March 2026 at the conference room of the Ministry.
The visit to the Ministries, according to Alex Percival Segbefia, the Chief of Staff at the office of the Vice President, is aimed at maintaining close engagement with their day-to-day activities.
The Minister of Roads and Highways, Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza, in his opening remarks, noted that the visit is the first time a Vice President has called on the Ministry specifically to engage with members of staff on a technical and operational level rather than to simply inaugurate a board.
“Your visit is unique as the First Vice President of the Republic to visit the Ministry and directly engage with Management and Staff and not to inaugurate a Board or cut sod for a project,” he said.
Hon. Agbodza also commended the importance that Government attaches to the development, maintenance, and effective management of Ghana’s road infrastructure. The Minister added that, MRH, together with its implementing agencies; the Ghana Highway Authority, the Department of Urban Roads, and the Department of Feeder Roads continue to work diligently to deliver on Government’s commitment to expand and improve the national road network.
