In support of the Government's nationwide sanitation initiative and ongoing efforts to restore environmental cleanliness following the recent floods, the Ghana Highway Authority today participated in the National General Clean-up Exercise at its Head Office. The exercise, which follows the recent floods experienced in parts of the country, saw Directors, Heads of Divisions and other members of staff led by the Ag. Dy. Chief Executive (Admin), actively sweeping the office premises, clearing overgrown vegetation, and collecting refuse within the Authority’s compound and surrounding areas.

Background
The President of the Republic, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, has declared July 10 and 11, as the 2026 National General Cleaning Days. The exercise, held under the auspices of the Post-Flood Mitigation Committee, is themed "Our Actions, Our Future: Cleaning Ghana after the Floods." The initiative seeks to mobilize citizens, public institutions, security agencies, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies, and other stakeholders to improve sanitation and prevent future flooding ahead of the peak rainy season.

By participating in the exercise, the Ghana Highway Authority once again demonstrated its commitment to environmental stewardship, public service, and supporting national development initiatives that safeguard lives, protect infrastructure, and promote sustainable communities.
